Temporary Medical Insurance
Temporary medical insurance is cheap and benefitial coverage. It is
a plan designed that's designed to cover your assets during the periods
that you are not able to have a permanent policy in place. A temporary
medical insurance plan works well when you are between jobs, where
group medical benefits would normally be enjoyed. Or, laid off from a
job and on a COBRA extension that really isn't too affordable without a
paycheck.
Perhaps you are waiting to become eligible for benefits at a new job.
Sometimes it can work as a student health insurance plan, but often a
permanent policy can usually make more sense in this case. Apply it to
your circumstances to see if it's a good fit for you.
Notice it says, “cover your assets” what’s that about? Temporary health
insurance, well all insurance, is purchased to protect against a financial
calamity if an unanticipated and catastrophic event should occur. You
buy health insurance when you are healthy and do not require care. I’ve
asked a lot of people over the years why they were shopping for medical
insurance after going without it for years. Some of them suddenly under-
stand the reason to get medical insurance. A friend or relative had a
major medical event that caused them financial ruin and they don’t want
that to happen to them.
Temporary medical insurance costs less than a regular or permanent
policy. If a sudden major medical event were to happen in your family
without some good medical insurance to pay for it, you could end up a
bankruptcy statistic. The low cost of temporary medical insurance is a
good bargain compared to the high cost of medical bills. We buy it to
protect our financial health and that of our family.
